The Face of Creation

SCULPTOR EXPLORES ART FOR THE HEART

This Easter, a new exhibition of work by the acclaimed sculptor, Nic Fiddian Green, will be on display at the Sladmore Gallery, 57 Jermyn Street. Opening on 10th April and running through until 2nd May 2025, 'The Face of Christ' features twenty new artworks across the mediums of bronze, paper, lead, copper and marble.

Internationally celebrated for his monumental equine sculptures, Nic's works are used to standing proudly amongst varying landscapes and backdrops amongst all the seasons of creation. In this latest series, he explores sacred themes through a modern lens, turning to the Creator himself whilst exploring the inner power of faith, suffering and redemption.

The centre piece of the exhibition - a life size Crucifixion is powerfully moving with Christ's face inviting the viewer to engage both spiritually and physically. And the atmospheric gallery, darkened with the work lit by candles, provides an invitation for contemplation and quiet reverence.

Emerging from a period of personal contemplation, Nic said: "These works are a reflection of my journey of faith - I have come to find that his power to elevate us underpins everything I strive to do - The Face of Christ is an attempt for me to convey in my work all that He conveys in my heart. Christ gives me the key, but will I open the door?"
