ARTIST DELIGHTS IN METROPOLIS
I recently became aware of the work of Sydney-based artist Michael Pederson who's been creating playful miniature installations across his home city, usually at foot level, for around 8 years. His public art often changes the way people experience life and although transitory in nature it offer viewers a hint of humour as it points to environment and social narratives.
"I like to underscore these unseen elements with a piece that a passer-by might spot out of the corner of their eye," said Michael, whose ideas are often born out of long walks and extensive daydreaming. He also hopes that the playfulness of his work will encourage creativity and thought in others. Here are a small sample which I hope you also enjoy!
