'Sounds Right'

NATURE'S OWN MUSIC STREAMS ON-LINE

Mother Nature has now been officially recognised as an artist/musician in her own right, with her own profile on major streaming platforms. Launched by the Museum for the United Nations on Earth Day (22nd April 2024) 'Sounds Right', is the name of a global music initiative aimed at encouraging millions of people to take action and recognise the value of Nature with tracks supporting the conservation of some of the most precious ecosystems around the world.

The 'Sounds Right' campaign which has been developed in close partnership with musicians, creatives, nature sound recordists, conservationists and campaigning organisations, will help fund climate action initiatives by donating Nature's streaming royalties to English musician, Brian Eno's Earth/Percent charity, which launched in 2021 to direct funds from the music industry towards climate crisis projects.

Brian Eno himself has given 'Get Real' a song he co-wrote with David Bowie in 1995, a re-mix by incorporating environmental sounds including the cries of hyenas, rooks and wild pigs and other artists such as Ellie Goulding, London Grammar, Bomba Estereo, Mo, AURORA, Cosmo Sheldrake and Anuv Jain have also already backed the campaign, creating new tracks that co-credit Nature. Fifty per cent of royalties from these tracks will go to EarthPercent, as will 70 percent of royalties from tracks added to NATURE's Ecosystem Sounds playlist.

From Queensland Rain Rhythms to Patagonia Oceanic Echoes, Bird Sounds in Mano de Oso to Victoria Thunder Beats, you can't beat the sounds of NATURE on 'Sounds Right' to uplift and inspire.

As well as activating fans and raising funds, it is hoped that 'Sounds Right' will spark a global conversation about how we value nature, and not least inspire a sense of urgency and agency in our collective efforts to protect the planet.

"Sounds Right is a groundbreaking music movement," said the UN's Melissa Fleming. "It unites people around the world in a shared commitment, recognising the intrinsic value of nature. Together, we must act now to protect our planet for our common future."
