NEIL YOUNG GIVES GREENLANDERS FREE ACCESS TO HIS MUSIC

On 27th January 2026, nature lover, environmental activist and legendary rockstar Neil Young, announced he has donated a year's worth of access to his music and documentary archive to the people of Greenland following recent threats of a takeover by the US. Greenland is also home to polar bears, humpback whales, musk oxen, walruses, reindeer and white-tailed eagles and with a culture and heritage linked to its wildlife, threats from increased U.S. interest in the region for resource extraction, particularly for rare earth minerals, uranium and oil could pose significant risks to Greenland's fragile ecosystems.

Access to Young's digital archive usually starts at around $25 (£18), depending on the subscription package but he's offering free access to all those in Greenland with a registered mobile number for verification.

"I'm honoured to give a free year's access to neilyoungarchives.com to all of our friends in Greenland. I hope my Music and Music Films will ease some of the unwarranted stress and threats you are experiencing from our unpopular and hopefully temporary government", the 80 year-old singer and songwriter wrote in a statement on his website.

"It is my sincere wish for you to be able to enjoy all of my music in your beautiful Greenland home, in its highest quality. This is an offer of Peace and Love. All the music I have made during the last 62 years is yours to hear. You can renew for free as long as you are in Greenland. We do hope other organisations will follow in the spirit of our example. LOVE EARTH. Neil."

The Canadian born rockstar who lives in the US and holds dual citizenship, often calls for respect of Mother Nature and expresses a deep connection to the earth's beauty in his songs. He recently announced a European summer tour kicking off at the Eden Project in Cornwall on 17th June 2026.
