Nature’s Advent - Sunday 15th December 2019

Have you got Christmas all wrapped?

If not why not be inventive with your gift presentation as well as your gifts this year to avoid plastic and pollution. You could use scarves as wraps and coverings, tied with reusable twine or ribbon which can become part of the present themselves. And you could add some dried seed heads or candied orange and cinnamon sticks, using images from last year's Christmas cards as tags.

If you really haven't got time then it's good to ensure that the Christmas paper, gift and bottle bags you buy are recycled and FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) and therefore can be re-used. RSPB's either have bird or woodland charm - and while you're ordering you can add in some high energy nibbles for the birds at the same time. The Woodland Trust's tree-inspired paper comes with 2 tags and twine included. Meanwhile the family run Green Stationary Company in Bath offer everything from recycled packaging tape and string to glue made from almonds and potato starch.
