As I'm sure most of you know, hedgehogs are an endangered species with numbers in the UK having fallen 95% since the turn of the century. There are many reasons but the use of pesticides and slug pellets are contributing to their continual decline - and not only hedgehogs. Those pellets containing metaldehyde or methiocarb also kill birds (especially thrushes who also feed on snails and slugs), amphibians and many pets.
